The Charlottesville Effect 

This week, Ed and his guest Scott are tackling the big story of the week: Almost a full week after a racially-fueled protest march in Charlottesville, Virginia ended in the death of a counterprotestor and two state troopers, President Trump continues to get the blame. There’s a quick recap of the event timeline, and then analysis of the President’s three different statements on the event: first Saturday, then Monday when his Saturday response was deemed unsatisfactory, then the Tuesday press conference at Trump Tower.

The Saturday statement – which was several minutes long and contained a lot more sentiments than the three words everyone is talking about (“on many sides”) – is played in full so you can make up your own mind. “It sounds very presidential to me,” Ed says. “And if we’re going to tear down statues of everything bad in our history, then our history disappears.” He asks: Should we even have a Freedom Tower to commemorate 9/11?

Learn the Facts First 

Regardless, everyone from Republican strategist Ana Navarro on CNN to former Trump friend Donny Duetsch is exploding with anger at the President, all of which we’re discussing on this week’s show. Furthermore, Ed points out, President Obama made statements before knowing all the facts and it didn’t work out for him so well. The conversation on Charlottesville continues into the second half with a discussion on the President pointing out that there’s not only an alt-right; there’s an alt-left, too. “These people who tore down the statue in Durham, and the ones who burned the statue of Abraham Lincoln…someone needs to tell these people it was the Republicans who fought for minority rights.”

Ed’s singing the praises of Paris Dennard, who was the Bush White House Director of Black Outreach. He was on CNN this week facing off against others who dared challenge his “blackness,” and he was having none of it. “I like this guy,” Ed says. Clinton Casualties Update

If you heard the popular Clinton Casualties episode last year, you know Ed is committed to outing the true character of Bill and Hillary Clinton. This week, he plays a clip from Congressman Pete Olson of Texas, who strongly implied on a local talk radio show in Houston that he believes the Clintons have had people killed. He referenced this when telling host Sam Malone what he really believes Bill Clinton said to Attorney General Loretta Lynch on the Phoenix tarmac before the election. If you haven’t heard this yet, tune in to hear what the Congressman had to say.

Social Media Silencing Conservatives

You already know that social media sites like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube have said they will be cracking down on hate speech (a good thing). But what’s not good is how they’re defining hate speech. Ed’s friend Scott has news on this to share, and you may find it pretty fascinating. For instance, conservative host Dennis Prager – who has a series of YouTubes called “Prager University” – has become a victim of YouTube censorship in the past year, with the site taking down some of the most tame, politically correct videos Mr. Prager has ever done. “How do you call Dennis Prager offensive?” Ed asks.

Stop Whining about Trump’s Vacation

This week, Ed’s talking about all the week’s most important news – but first, the show opens with all the social media criticism of the President’s 17-day working vacation at his Bedminster resort in New Jersey. To the user who tweeted this was Trump’s 45th time on the golf course since taking office, Ed says, “I don’t buy that – and when he is, you always see him doing presidential business on the golf course. When Obama was on vacation, he was on vacation all the time.” Ed points out that Obama golfed with celebrities like Jay-Z, while President Trump golfs with Japanese Prime Minster Shinzo Abe. Plus, there’s an eye-opening fact courtesy of McClatchy News Group: Over the course of 8 years, Obama’s presidential vacations cost we the taxpayers $85 million! “I know we pay for all this stuff, but I think the Obamas just milked it,” Ed says. “He took advantage of it.”

This “Short, Fat Guy” in North Korea that Bill Clinton Gave Nukes To

Next, it’s on to the threat from North Korea this week. The rogue nation claims it will be firing four nuclear missiles toward the island of Guam, which is a U.S. territory and home to two of our military bases. Of the President’s now-infamous “fire and fury” comment, Ed says, “That kind of talk doesn’t bother me at all. I’m tired of all the diplomatic stuff,” and agrees with those who say seems like this is the kind of thing that Kim Jong Un understands. “Sometimes Trump’s a little brash, but I prefer that to blowing smoke up our butts like Obama did.”

Plus, there are indications that Mattis, Tillerson and others in the cabinet may be advising the President to talk tough to “this short, fat guy” in North Korea. On this week’s show, you’ll hear a respected analyst say that – and, you’ll hear our own State Department’s confirmation that all departments of the government are speaking with “one voice.” As the second half begins, Ed talks about what history has taught us about countries threatening nuclear war – and speaking of history, a reminder about who gave North Korea the ability to create nukes in the first place (hint: his name is Bill Clinton – and if you didn’t know about that, you’ll hear the televised proof on this week’s show).

McConnell’s “This Line of Work” Comment, the Manafort House Raid & the Liberals Who Love Leakers

As the second half rolls on, Ed’s talking about Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s comment that this President is “new to this line of work” and that’s why he doesn’t understand that repealing legislation like Obamacare takes time. “Well, maybe that’s not the best way to do things,” Ed says. “Just because this is how it’s always been done doesn’t mean that’s the way it’s supposed to be done.”

Next, we’re talking about the report that the home of Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort was raided by the FBI last month after he has already turned over hundreds of pages of documents to congressional investigators related to the president’s campaign and Russia’s role in the 2016 election. Senator Richard Blumenthal can barely contain his excitement, telling NBC’s Andrea Mitchell this is clear evidence of a crime. “The only crime that was committed is that Hillary Clinton didn’t win,” Ed says. “That’s what all this is about.”

Ed continues, “Why didn’t they do a pre-dawn raid at her house, or Huma Abedin’s house, because she was on payroll at the foundation and that holdings company while she was also at the State Department…finding ways to funnel all this money back into the Clintons’ pockets?” Don’t miss the second half, because there’s a lot to listen to this week – including how all the liberals who love leakers (like Dan Rather, for example) only find it patriotic because this is a Republican administration.

This week, Ed starts with some words on reverse mortgage. “If you’ve heard about these and all you know is you see them on TV,” Ed says, “you need to find out more. You don’t have to be poor and you don’t have to be rich; you just have to be in the age group, and you have to need it.” If you’re a homeowner age 62 or over and are interested, call Ed at (855) 640-2020 to speak with a member of his team.

White House Shakeup

Next, it’s on to the news of the week. It starts with the staffing changes we’ve seen the past couple of weeks at the White House. As you may be aware, the mainstream media is portraying this series of events as evidence that the Trump White House is “imploding.” But many smart people are viewing this as a positive thing for the administration, and you’ll hear from them on this week’s show. Ed agrees. “I don’t see this as an implosion,” Ed says. “I see this as a natural thing.” He makes comparisons to real-life situations. “It’s a tough time,” he says. “You move some people around, and you try some people here and some people there. Having a mix that works is not easy.” As for some media claims that General John Kelly taking over as Chief of Staff means the White House is being “militarized,” Ed says, “I think that’s a good thing.” You’ll also get some humor as Ed imitates Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ Alabama drawl.

Then, the topic rolls around to this week’s developments on the Russia probe – most notably, the Washington Post story that the President “personally dictated” Don Jr.’s media talking points about his June 2016 meeting with a Russian lawyer at Trump Tower. “That’s what dads and sons do,” Ed says, “but apparently that’s against the law if you’re Donald Trump.”

Sarah Sanders Smackdown

You’ll also hear from new Press Secretary Sarah Sanders, who shot down reporters in the Tuesday press briefing with reminders that they aren’t covering how the Democrats actually colluded with a foreign government during the election (the Ukraine), the Clintons’ ties to the shady Uranium One deal with Russia while Hillary was Secretary of State – or, the false story about Trump’s behavior in Russia concocted by the nefarious firm Fusion GPS, which is believed to have been paid by Democratic donors. “BAM!” Ed says in agreement.

Imran Awan, DWS IT Guy From Pakistan – Is He a Spy?  

In the second half, we’re talking about how the real collusion, corruption and criminality are in the Democrat party. Last week, you may have heard about the arrest of Pakistani-born Imran Awan, the IT aide to Congresswoman and former Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairwoman Debbie Wassermann Schultz, known in blogging shorthand as DWS.

“I missed talking about it last week, so let’s go over that story…especially since the media is doing everything they can to make it go away,” Ed says. Here’s the Imran Awan timeline:

1. In February 2017, Capitol Police started investigating Awan for alleged involvement in massive cyber security breaches and for transferring sensitive congressional data offsite.
2. During the investigation, they found a laptop that Debbie Wasserman Schultz had issued to him, hidden in an unused crevice of the Rayburn House Office Building.
3. Shortly thereafter, Wasserman Schultz grilled Capitol Police Chief Matthew Verderosa during a budget meeting the chief had with Schultz and congressional budget staff – listen to her threaten him if he didn’t return her “equipment” to her.
4. When they searched a home Awan was renting out to a tenant, police found several smashed hard drives in the garage. (The tenant is the one who found the hard drives; having seen his landlord’s story on the news, he called the police.)
5. Awan was arrested on bank fraud at Dulles Airport near Washington DC on July 27; he was attempting to flee the country. Airport Customs found about $12,000 cash in his wife and children’s luggage. (Guess what? They were still allowed to board the flight to Pakistan.)
6. The fraud charges are in relation to Awan and his wife, Hina Alvi, misrepresenting themselves on a loan for a rental property they had and then wiring the proceeds to two unnamed persons in Pakistan. (“Why didn’t they hold her back?” Ed says. Remember Tashfeen Malik?”)
7. This whole investigation involves what a source called “serious, potentially illegal violations on the House IT network” by Imran and three of his relatives, who had access to the emails and files of the more than two dozen House Democrats who employed them on a part-time basis. (That’s right – they didn’t just work for Wasserman Schultz. Imran Awan was a shared employee paid by at least a dozen Democratic House offices, although most of them had the good sense to fire him when the investigation started in February. DWS didn’t fire him until after the arrest.)
8. Awan had reportedly managed to bankroll $4 million for himself and several of his relatives since 2010, including his two brothers and their wives (plus at least three friends), all of whom were hired as staffers on the payrolls of other House Democrats. Fellow IT staffers said the Awans were often absent from weekly meetings and email exchanges. One of the fellow staffers said some of the computers the Awans managed were being used to transfer data to an off-site server – hence the investigation.
9. His lawyer is claiming Islamophobia, which should come as no surprise because Imran Awan has actually written about Islamophobia for CNN and talked about it on MSNBC.
10. More on that lawyer, Chris Gowen: His official bio on his law firm’s website notes that he “left the Public Defender’s office to work for former President William Jefferson Clinton and then-Senator Hillary Clinton. Chris was a fact checker for President Clinton’s memoir, My Life. He also served as a traveling aid for President Clinton’s national and international trips. Chris finished his tenure with the Clintons by directing the advance operations for then-Senator Hillary Clinton during her 2008 presidential campaign.”)

“Does all this sound fishy to you?” Ed says. “I’m going to do a part two to my Clinton Casualties show soon, because there’s a lot of stuff we need to talk about.”

This week, it starts with some real estate talk – and as Ed says, “All you baby boomers want to know about reverse mortgage.” If it’s something you’re interested in, tune in to the beginning of the show to hear it.

Next, it’s on to this week’s news. It’s been another scramble to pass an Obamacare repeal before Congress goes on August recess – and unfortunately, the Senate failed to pass a clean repeal bill when it was bought to the floor on Wednesday. As always, Ed has thoughts on this. “Remember: If we repeal Obamacare, it cuts out a whole bunch of rules for employers so they can hire some more people. If you cut taxes on companies, they’re going to come up with some ways to give people raises.” To the seven Republicans who voted against a clean repeal, Ed says: “What are you thinking? You know what they’re thinking? They’re afraid of what people will say. They’re so busy keeping their jobs, they forget to do their jobs.”

By Wednesday night, Republicans had begun talking about a so-called “skinny repeal” that would repeal only three parts of the bill:

• The individual mandate
• The employer mandate
• The 2.3% excise tax on medical devices

The main reason to support it, said Thom Tillis of North Carolina, was that it “keeps the conversation going” in conference as opposed to stalling the Senate’s efforts – but because McCain, Collins and Murkowski disagreed, the bill died on Thursday night. “I don’t fault these people for voting against it, because they should have voted for the full repeal.” Now, Ed says, “McCain is becoming the hero of the Democrats.” Tune in to hear what Minority Leader Chuck Schumer had to say about him.

Speaking of Schumer, he unveiled the so-called “new” Democratic party agenda on George Stephanopoulos on Sunday. It’s called “A Better Deal,” and so far it seems it will include:

• Setting up an independent agency designed to prevent prescription drug price gouging that would allow Medicare to negotiate with drug manufacturers for lower prices
• Somehow legislating consolidations in the airline, cable, internet, phone, beer, food and eyeglass industries
• Changes in antitrust laws to prevent big corporate mergers that could result in increased prices
• Doubling federal support for registered apprenticeship programs
• Giving tax credits to companies that train new workers

“How about instead of this,” Ed says, “Instead of the government paying every tire shop to teach kids how to bust tires or paying every construction company to teach people how to swing a hammer, I hire my own new workers, train them, and then I give them the money? Then when they get good at it, I give them raises?”

In the second half, it’s on to the issue that was raised this week regarding transgendered people serving in the military. You’ll get the timeline from the President’s tweet to the Pentagon internal memo that was leaked to Politico that said the tweet held no weight legally. “Just because he tweets out what he wants the policy to be doesn’t mean the order was received to change the policy,” said Fox’s Bret Baier as he explained the Joint Chief’s memo. “They need the official way.” Ed has thoughts on this as well, so tune in this week to hear them (in addition to some comments that Ed’s friend Joey Jones made as a guest on Fox & Friends).

Finally, we’re talking about an organization you may not have heard much about: Fusion GPS, which is the firm tied to the salacious “Trump dossier” alleging lewd activity in Russia. If you’ve wondered where that dossier came from, tune in to The Main Event this week. It’s an alarming, eye-opening story and it’s definitely not “fake news.”

This week, Ed starts the show with a “slow news day” story from Monday: celebrities who want to run for political office. “So Donald Trump got in there and I guess he smashed the glass ceiling,” Ed says. “Now, all celebrities can be politicians.” It starts with Caitlyn Jenner running for Diane Feinstein’s Senate seat here in California (“I hope we get someone with some name recognition to run, but maybe not Bruce/Caitlyn,” Ed says – and not for the reasons you think!); followed by singer Kid Rock running as a Republican against Democrat Debbie Stabenow in Michigan (listen to what Elizabeth Warren did when she heard about it); next, Dwayne “The Rock Johnson” bragging that he beat Trump out in a theoretical 2020 election poll (“I like his movies, but you know what?” Ed says. Tune in to hear what his thoughts are!); and finally, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg’s possible interest in running for President. Have you heard about his promotion of a “universal basic income” – and do you even know what a universal basic income is? Tune in to the show this week to hear about it, as well as Zuckerberg’s comments on “luck.” Ed has a lot to say about it!

In the second half, we’re talking the Senate Republicans failure to pass an Obamacare replacement before the August recess. “They don’t have the votes,” Ed says, “and the Democrats won’t help at all.” If this roller coaster of events has been hard to follow, you need a recap and Ed has it for you on this week’s show – but the bottom line remains the same, Ed says: “The problem is that most politicians don’t understand the real world and how people think.”

Next, it’s on to the most unexpected story of the week: the President’s impromptu interview with the New York Times. The big takeaway, as far as the press is concerned, is the President’s criticism of his own Attorney General, Jeff Sessions, because Sessions recused himself from the Russia investigation. “I agree completely,” Ed says.

At one point, the President said that that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein’s appointment of Special Counsel Robert Mueller was rife with conflicts of interest – not just because of his relationship with James Comey, but also because at one point, Trump interviewed Mueller to replace Comey at the FBI – in fact, he was suspiciously appointed Special Counsel the very next day after this interview. In the transcript of the Times interview, Trump said his reaction to this was, “What the hell?” You’ll hear about all that and more on this week’s show – including the truth behind the “second secret meeting” between Trump and Putin, which doesn’t amount to much (to the press’s dismay). “I remember getting a bunch of alerts and tweets about this,” Ed says. “But if you’ve seen the picture, there’s a long, long table with condiments and centerpieces. And here’s the President, and Putin, and all these world leaders having a meal together – and this is a ‘private meeting’? I don’t think so.

Of course, there were plenty of questions about the Don Jr. meeting too – and “the media is really, really reaching,” Ed says as the show concludes.

This week, Ed is talking about the story that no one wants to let go: Donald Trump Jr.’s June 2016 meeting with Russian “honeypot” lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya. “Historically,” Ed says, “a ‘honeypot’ or ‘honey trap’ is a Russian female who uses her looks to get information from foreign men, usually Americans or Europeans. She’s either a spy or some kind of asset to the Russian government.” As for whether she really is a spy or otherwise affiliated with the Russian government (which she denies), Ed says, “Who knows?” If this story is moving forward so quickly you can’t keep up, tune in to The Main Event this week to get the full breakdown. You’ll even hear a few seconds of Russian singer Emin’s 2013 music video featuring the now-President Trump (yes, Ed’s getting that detailed!). The story will fill the whole first half and cover the entire timeline; it will also address the media’s gleeful proclamations that Donald Jr. “might go to jail” simply because he agreed to the meeting and said the words “I love it” in an email. “Should he have said ‘That’s the bomb’ or something else?” Ed jokes. “The reason I bring this up is that some of us blow this off, but you’ll hear someone at work who wants to say, ‘Did you hear Donald Jr. is going to jail? Did you hear he committed treason?’ So you need to know the whole story.”

And as the first half closes out, you’ll hear about Hillary Clinton’s own foray into getting opposition research from a Soviet bloc country – in her case, the Ukraine. “It’s amazing to me that Hillary does this stuff and nobody cares about it,” Ed says. “But they all care about it when it’s Trump.” Ed also reminds us about Hillary’s negotiation of a deal with the Russian company Uranium One, something that was almost certainly not in America’s best interests. But it’s not over until we hear Lindsey Graham say, “I can get a reverse mortgage now!” on his 62nd birthday this week. “Senator Graham,” Ed says, “Call me at (855) 640-2020!”

In the second half, it’s on to the Senate confirmation of FBI director nominee Christopher Wray – but unfortunately, even that included Russia as a line of questioning because Senators like Al Franken and Richard Blumenthal decided it somehow should be included. “They spend their time making statements, not asking questions,” Ed says. “It’s just stupid.”

And for the final topic of the show, we’re listening to some of insane liberal hyperbole this week: everything from the MSNBC and CNN commentators who called the President’s speech in Poland “white supremacist” to Bernie Sanders saying the Republican healthcare bill “will kill 9 times more people than 9/11.”

“Unbelievable!” Ed says. He’s on fire this week and you’re going to love it.

Here’s a preview of this week’s show!

This week, Ed welcomes Scott MacAfee back to the show. They start off with a story about the laughable furor over the Internet meme that used an old WWE video of Trump pretending to beat up a wrestler with the CNN logo over the wrestler’s face. Ed and Scott unpack this ridiculous story, and Ed even reads some of the Reddit user’s lengthy apology. “I can hear Obama saying, ‘This is not who we are’,” Ed says. “I have to vomit.” As for how CNN tracked down the user, Scott says, “What is Reddit doing giving out a user’s identity to anyone?” You’ll also hear proof that what CNN is doing to this anonymous user is nothing short of blackmail from someone who knows a thing or two about the law, Judge Jeanine Pirro.

Moving on, Ed and Scott are talking about Trump’s non-apology tour overseas (the opposite of the Obama apology tours we grew accustomed to for 8 years). Rather than worrying about tweets and memes, our allies in Europe (specifically Poland) saw President Trump as a serious world leader this week, evidenced by the warm reception they gave him in Warsaw. Ed comments on the statesman-like speech from Trump and the Polish people chanting his name. “I never heard them chanting Barack Obama’s name like that,” he says. And as for the President’s meeting with Vladimir Putin on Friday, it resulted in Russia agreeing to a ceasefire in Syria, which will take place on Sunday in an effort to de-escalate the Syrian civil war. “It just goes to show what can happen in meetings like this,” Ed says. Scott jokes, “Or maybe it’s just ‘proof of Russian collusion’.” As the first half closes out, you’ll also hear about the reason North Korea was just able to successfully launch a test missile capable of hitting Alaska: As it turns out, it’s an ill-fated deal agreed to by Bill Clinton in 1994. In the second half, the focus shifts to the assault on free speech across the nation’s college campuses. Next, Ed and Scott interview Kyle Chapman by phone. You’ll hear him talk about his involvement in defending conservatives at political rallies against the organized protesters who destroy property, set fires and hurt people. “Let’s call these people what they are,” Kyle says. “These are masked thugs. They dress like ISIS.” As to how Kyle got involved in fighting these thugs, he says, “I’m hardwired to react a certain way in certain situations, and when I see my conservative brothers and sister under assault, I’m going to jump into action.”

Kyle describes the kind of violence he has seen at rallies and protests that go unreported by the media, including unreported incidents from the infamous Berkeley rally in March that received a great amount of media attention. “And I can tell you the level of violence is only going to intensify from here,” he says. “They’re going to pull out all the stops to prevent Trump from getting a second term, and it’s going to turn into a civil war environment.” This is an enlightening interview you don’t want to miss. This week, Ed welcomes Roger Doyle to the show. Roger is co-owner of Think Active Shooter Consulting Group, which trains people and groups to deal with active shooter situations. “You can train anyone to shoot a gun,” Roger says, “but what happens in real life? The other person shoots back. So we train people what to do if you have a rock, but the other person is throwing a bigger rock at you. We teach people to be comfortable with a gun, and everything goes along with that. It’s not just about carrying that gun.”

Roger is also a law enforcement officer in Southern California in addition to holding a variety of certifications, one of them being Terrorism Liaison Officer. On that note, Ed and Roger also discuss the Supreme Court’s ruling this week to allow parts of the President’s travel ban – albeit not enough. “If all they have to have is a family member to come in…how do you know that person isn’t in ISIS? There have to be other rules.” Referring to events like the Orlando nightclub shooting, the San Bernardino terror attack and school shootings, Roger states, “Every tick of the hand of a watch has the potential for someone to die. These people are soft targets, unless one of them also has a gun.”

But carrying is only one part of the equation. “You have to be mentally prepared, too,” he says. “If you’re not mentally prepared to deal with that situation, you may as well roll over and be a target. If we can mentally prepare you for these types of situations, you’re going to instantly react.” Ed agrees: “Be aware. In the second half, Ed is talking about the news of the week. “I can’t wait until we can stop talking about Russia,” Ed says, “but here’s the good news. At least for now, some of the media focus is shifting to Obama. Thank God!” He’s referring to the new reports that the Obama administration knew about Russian meddling in our election as far back as July or August 2016 – something that wasn’t disclosed to the American people until October, weeks before the election.

In fact, Obama’s White House contacted the Kremlin on the backchannel to say they had documentation of their actions. “Wait a minute…Obama that has a backchannel to the Kremlin?” Ed says. “Three weeks ago, everyone was upset that Trump’s son-in-law had a backchannel to Russia. Can you say hypocrisy?” Ed gives a detailed timeline of the events, from August 2016 until right before the inauguration of Trump – and it’s clear evidence that the Obama administration was willing to let Russian meddling slide until they realized that Hillary Clinton might not win. “Now everything shifts,” Ed says as he talks about how the Democrats are suddenly concerned once Trump wins the presidency. “I can’t believe people are stupid enough to buy this stuff.”

One might think CNN would love this breaking news, considering they talk about Russia 24/7 – but since it focuses on Obama and not Trump, they’re at a loss. Speaking of CNN, you’ll get a recap of all the embarrassments the network has experienced this week; everyone’s talking about the President’s tweets to MSNBC hosts, but let’s not forget about CNN’s foibles with a producer admitting the network’s CEO tells them to talk about Russia day in and day out. Let’s not forget about prominent commentator Van Jones calling Russia a “nothingburger” either.

As the show closes, Ed is talking about the current state of the Senate GOP healthcare bill. You’ll get Rand Paul’s take on it, which Ed agrees with wholeheartedly. “We can clean it up,” Ed says, “without tearing it up.” In the final moments, there’s an Independence Day movie clip that’s meaningful for the holiday coming up. This week, Ed welcomes veterans advocate and military analyst Joey Jones on the show to discuss several of this week’s events. It starts with one of the saddest stories in recent memory: the death of Otto Warmbier, the American college student who spent 17 months in North Korean detention. As most know, Otto died on June 20 in his hometown of Cincinnati. Reflecting on the mysterious circumstances surrounding Otto’s time in the corrupted nation of North Korea, Ed asks Joey what he believes happened to the young man to put him in the state that led to his death. “I’m not a doctor,” Joey says, “but it’s pretty obvious he was mistreated. To what extent, it seems like the doctors don’t know yet. But it’s time to call North Korea to the carpet.” There’s a longer discussion on this, so tune in to The Main Event to hear it if you’re interested in analysis on whether the Obama administration did enough, and whether it’s appropriate for the Trump administration to count Otto’s release as a victory.

Next, it’s on to the special election in the 6^th District of Georgia that everyone’s talking about this week. As someone who lives in the area, Joey Jones was actually considered and vetted to run for that seat – so he has loads of insight when it comes to how Karen Handel, the Republican candidate, eventually won. “Karen Handel won because she’s been around forever, she has name recognition and she has the grass roots to win a special election.” An interesting comment on why Hollywood stars donated so much money to Ossoff’s campaign, though: “Georgia has the second largest entertainment community in the country, right behind Hollywood,” he says. “There’s some justification for why they all donated.”

Ed comments, “They were pushing this election as a referendum on Trump, and I think it bit them in the butt.” Case in point: Now, several congressional Democrats are pushing for the resignation of Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi. Listen to this week’s show to hear them call for her to step aside and make way for younger, fresher leadership – this is must-hear for anyone who wants to see Pelosi’s congressional reign come to an end.

In the second half, it’s on to the news that broke Friday morning: the VA Accountability and Whistleblower Protection Act, which was signed by President Trump on Friday morning. “This is something I applaud President Trump on doing,” Joey says. “Currently, it takes 180 days to fire anyone other than an executive at the VA. There’s still a long way to go, but we have to applaud this victory.” In his time on Capitol Hill, “I’ve seen multiple congressional hearings devoted to retraining employees, and we have to put something in place that mandates hiring the right talent.”

Ed starts the show with thoughts on California becoming a sanctuary state. “I just can’t believe how stupid people are in this state these days,” he says. Next: One week after he testified before the Senate Intelligence Committee, we’re still talking about former FBI Director James Comey. Thanks to the reporters at the website Circa News, we know what one source says about he closed session Comey had with the committee when the cameras left the room. It’s a story about an encounter Comey had with former Attorney General Loretta Lynch. The details include:

• Comey told Lynch he was concerned she had created a conflict of interest when she had that now-infamous meeting with Bill Clinton on an airport tarmac while the investigation into Hillary’s emails was ongoing.
• During this conversation, Comey confronted Lynch with “a highly sensitive piece of evidence” (some kind of document, perhaps an email) that proved Lynch had agreed to put a stop to any prosecution of Hillary Clinton.
• Comey said “the Attorney General looked at the document, then looked up with a steely silence that lasted for some time, then asked him if he had any other business with her – and if not, that he should leave her office,” said the source.
• Comey “took that interaction, and the fact she had met with Bill Clinton, as enough reason to decide he would not allow the Justice Department to decide the fate of the case.” That, apparently, is when he decided to go public with his own assessment that the FBI should not charge Hillary Clinton because they could not prove she had intent to violate the law by sending classified information over her private server.

“So here, we have some evidence that Loretta Lynch is dirty and Comey was two-faced and talking out both sides of his mouth,” Ed says. “And keep in mind, all this happened right in the middle of Hillary’s presidential campaign – which makes you wonder about the intelligence of Democrats. This is really who you want to run for President?” On this week’s show, you’ll hear from someone who asks why “habitual note taker” Comey didn’t write memos about his meetings with Lynch, but he took notes on his meetings with President Trump – great question!

Next topic: Attorney General Jeff Sessions testified in a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing on Tuesday, fighting back against claims that he obstructed justice or had anything to do with Russian collusion in the election. Tune in to The Main Event to hear the likes of Senators Ron Wyden and Kamala Harris going over-the-top in their questioning (as Democrats tend to do in these hearings). “Ron Wyden, who’s from Oregon where they’re all smoking weed, has an issue I won’t point out,” Ed says. “But listening to Senator Ron Wyden is like listening to my dog Tank if he could talk.” Ed has similar remarks on Kamala Harris, who put on a big show as usual, since it’s all part of her plan to be her party’s next presidential nominee. “What is the point of grilling him like that?” Ed says.

Then, it’s on to the news that neutral, objective Special Counsel Robert Mueller – who was assigned to investigate the legal issues surrounding the President when it comes to the Russia accusations – may not be so neutral or objective after all. We’re learning more this week about Mueller’s background, and it turns out his ties with James Comey run deep; tune in to this week’s show to hear what they are! Ed loves Newt Gingrich’s comments on the matter and reflects on how we would have been a great President. “But we want people like Kamala Harris,” he says. “You think she’s so smart?” Ed’s thoughts on the Democrat mindset are not to be missed this week!

And of course, we’re talking about how the left showed its true colors in its response to the shooting at the congressional baseball practice in Alexandria, Virginia this week. As you may know, 66-year-old James Hodgkinson of Illinois was a Bernie Sanders supporter who volunteered for Sanders’ presidential campaign as well as a bigtime fan of MSNBC and every liberal news-comedy show you can think of: The Daily Show, The Nightly Show, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, and Real Time with Bill Maher – oh, and he made some clearly malicious Facebook posts about President Trump in recent months (and yet, Nancy Pelosi still managed to find a way to blame Republicans for his actions in her weekly press conference). “You know, I remember not being too happy when Obama was elected,” Ed says. “But I didn’t go around shooting people.” Speaking of guns, Ed plays a clip of Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe saying that “guns kill 93 million people a day.” Hmm…

This week, Ed opens the show with the infamous “You can’t handle the truth” scene from the movie “A Few Good Men.” He explains why it’s relevant to this week’s news: “Tom Cruise sucks Nicholson in one question at a time and corners him. It reminds me of what happened this week with James Comey…and we just want the truth!” Comey’s testimony is the big story of the week, of course – but first, Ed will talk about some lessons learned from the annual Mastermind Summit conference he attended this week, where he learned from basketball/business great Magic Johnson and others.

“I always go to these conferences looking for the secret,” he says. “But I learned this week that there are no secrets. Just take care of your clients.” Another great takeaway: “When something happens to you, ask what you could have done to change it. Because if you blame someone else, it’s out of your control. You can’t control anyone but you.” And one final tip from speaker and author Jack Canfield: “Make a list of all the things you can’t do, and replace ‘can’t’ with the word ‘won’t.’ What you think you can’t do is really what you won’t do.”

Next, it’s on to current events – starting with the dozens of terror attacks that have happened around the world during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. “Maybe this isn’t a religion,” Ed says. “Maybe it’s a manifest to take over the world.” Since the first day of Ramadan 2017, jihadis have used bombs, guns, suicide vests and vehicles to massacre more than 100 people in 21 countries. Ed lists many of the attacks, some of which you probably never heard about because they took place in parts of the world where terrorism is commonplace – and yet, that’s the sad irony. Most listeners are already aware of one, though: The attack involving three terrorists plowing a van into pedestrians on the London Bridge on June 3, which killed six and injured dozens.

This was the third jihadist attack on British soil in two weeks, and one of the attackers – the aptly named Khuram Butt – was already well-known to British police and intelligence, although he was never arrested. Of the line Butt said in the British documentary “The Jihadis Next Door,” where he complains he and his friends were kicked out of a park for innocently “praying,” Ed says: “If you saw people praying to a black ISIS flag in your neighborhood, would you just live and let live or would you call the police? Is it religious freedom when their book says ‘convert or die’?” You’ll also hear from the now-very-reasonable Piers Morgan, who asks with conviction: “Aren’t the British public entitled to know why more wasn’t done to prevent this person from becoming a terrorist?” Ed laments that, and the fact that the courts are doing everything they can to prevent our President’s travel ban from being enforced.

As the second half continues, Ed’s recapping Thursday’s testimony from former FBI Director James Comey before the Senate Intelligence Committee. In case you missed it, Ed will play a synopsis of Comey’s 7-page prepared statement sent to the committee the day before to set the stage. “I don’t hear anything too terrible there,” Ed says, saying that all this was an instrument of congressional Democrats who are making a full-time job of calling for Trump’s impeachment.

And of course, we have the highlights of the day’s testimony, including Comey explaining all three times he told the President he was not being investigated. “I think Comey’s talking out both sides of his mouth,” Ed says. “Some things he’s very clear on, and other things he’s cloudy.” As for one of the most eye-opening parts of Comey’s testimony – that he leaked his memo of conversations with the President to the media “through a friend” – Ed remarks, “I can’t believe he’s actually saying this.”

This week, Ed starts out the show with a clip of Joe Pesci’s character in the movie “With Honors.” “It’s about what the founding fathers had in mind when they wrote the Constitution,” Ed says, making a comparison to what’s going on with the President being forced to appeal to the Supreme Court this week. “Do you realize that Trump’s travel ban would have been over already – and if the Democrats weren’t busy trying to block the order, we could have been vetting these people?”

Next, it’s on to the news of the week. As you may have heard, the President’s son-in-law and advisor Jared Kushner is the most recent member of the Trump administration to be portrayed as an evil villain with supposedly strong ties to Russia. It started one week ago, when the Washington Post published a story that Kushner may have discussed creating a secret communications channel with Russia’s ambassador Sergei Kislyak before the inauguration. Ed agrees with Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly, who says that backchannel communications are a normal procedure in government. “We want our elected leaders to get things done with other governments,” Ed says. “How can they do that if they don’t talk to each other?” Furthermore, Ed reminds us, “Jared Kushner said he’s willing to answer any questions from anybody now.”

After that, it’s on to Hillary’s ongoing blame game tour. This week, she showed up at the tech conference Code Con in Silicon Valley for a panel discussion (why?). Hillary’s still dreaming up more reasons she lost the election, including an allegation that Donald Trump personally directed the Russians to “weaponize” the anger of racist Americans so they could help him win – and in another laughable clip, manages to blame the Russians, the FBI, James Comey and American voters all in one breath. In fact, Hillary blamed 24 people, groups and things for her election loss. Here’s the full list:

Yes, she blames DNC – the same organization that admits to sabotaging Bernie Sanders’ campaign so that she could become the party nominee. “I think the DNC started out with three times as much money as Trump did when he started out,” Ed says, and she’s having to inject money into it?” Ed also reminds listeners what happened to former DNC staffer Seth Rich, a Bernie Sanders supporter. “Mysteriously, he ended up dead.”

In the second half, we’re comparing the various college commencement speeches given by liberal and conservative figures this year. Hillary accepted an offer to speak at Wellesley College, her own alma mater, where she reminded us of one big reason why she was unfit to be President: She’s not physically healthy! Tune in to The Main Event this week to hear her coughing fit just one week ago; you’ll realize what a mess America avoided by saying “no thanks” to her on election day. You’ll also hear Senator Elizabeth Warren telling the University of Massachusetts at Amherst graduates they should take what they don’t know and use it to influence government – and of course, Crazy Uncle Joe strikes again this year with one of his trademark gaffes at the Harvard commencement. You need to hear this one; it’s hilarious! Ed finishes this segment with his thoughts on the corruption of the American university system.

As the show closes out, Ed touches on the President withdrawing the United States from the Paris climate accord. You’ll hear the doomsday messages from the left, as well as the details on why we dodged a major bullet by getting out. “Trump knew this was going to choke the economy by making those commitments,” Ed says.

This week, Ed opens with a powerful clip from the original “Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” movie from the 1970s. He ties it into current events: “People are talking about stupid stuff,” he says. “They’re talking about Melania’s dress, Russian collusion…and there’s nothing there. Next, it’s on to the news of the week, starting with President Trump’s first official overseas trip. “I was filled with pride,” Ed says. “He was presidential, he wasn’t aggressive, and he didn’t back down on the things we believe.” He cites the President’s speech in Saudi Arabia on Sunday, where Trump stood firm on terror in front of dozens of Arab leaders, while still remaining respectful of the culture.

Regardless, CNN pointed to Trump’s criticism of Obama bowing to Saudi leaders in 2009 to call him a hypocrite (because he bent down to receive the Collar of Abdulaziz Al Saud, the kingdom’s highest civilian honor). “I just don’t see it that way,” Ed says. “If the king gives you an award and it goes around your neck, and you’re taller than the king, you bend over to let him put it around your head. I don’t see that as bowing.” Ed also has insight on the $110 billion “arms deal” the President signed with the Saudis this week, pointing out the fact that the deal was already in progress under Obama and it will create numerous American jobs. You’ll also get Ed’s take on why Saudi Arabia was not included in the President’s travel ban; it’s simple logic you need to hear. Compare the presence Trump had on the world stage this week (not only in Saudi Arabia, but also in Israel, the Vatican and the NATO G7 Summit in Brussels), and you have a stark comparison to Obama’s “Apology Tour” in 2009.

Moving on, Ed and his guest Scott will talk about the terror attack in Manchester, England which killed 22 people, many of them young women and girls. As of Friday, 10 were arrested, including the father and brother of deceased bomber Salman Abedi. You may have heard Dr. Sebastian Gorka’s insight this week that “dates matter to terrorists,” and that May 22 was the fourth anniversary of the killing of British soldier Fusilier Lee Rigby by two young converts to Islam. Dr. Gorka points out that Benghazi happened on a 9/11 anniversary, and Ed agrees: “On 9/11, maybe you should be ramping up the security all over the world, because it’s 9/11.” Furthermore, there’s an argument to be made for Trump’s travel ban now – and of course, yet another court of appeals (the Fourth Circuit, this time) struck down the executive order this week to make a political point.

In the second half, it’s on to the President’s proposed budget for 2018. Ed was thrilled with Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney on Tuesday. “He tells it like it is,” Ed says, when it comes to the federal budget. If you missed Mulvaney answering questions on the budget this week, tune in to The Main Event to hear it; as you hear him tell reporters that we need “balance between people who get the benefits and the people who pay them,” you just might find yourself cheering him on. In response to those who cry that people will “go hungry” because of cuts to the SNAP (food stamp) program, Ed says: “No they won’t. They’ll go to work.”

This week, there’s massive fallout for the White House after the firing of FBI Director James Comey. It started Tuesday, when media reports surfaced that there was a memo written by Comey purporting to show President Trump asking him to end the FBI investigation into Mike Flynn. Comey, who is said to have documented “everything he could remember” after meeting with Trump on February 14^th, wrote, “I hope you can let this go” on his paper, which is believed to be a quote from the President in regards to the FBI’s investigation of Mike Flynn.

In regards to the cries for Trump’s impeachment on the grounds that he was “obstructing justice” by doing this, Ed likens it to him trying to get out of a speeding ticket. “Haven’t you all done that?” He says. “We’re going to impeach this guy over that? Give me a break.” Things get a little more controversial from there, so tune in to hear what Ed has to say! You’ll also hear from our current National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster, and get Ed’s thoughts on the baseless “Russian collusion” witchunt against Trump that is so granular, people are criticizing the “ketchup he puts on his meatloaf.”

And as for the anonymous sources leaking information to the press, “If you’ve got something to say, step up to the mic and say it,” Ed says. “We don’t let anonymous witnesses on a stand in court, but we’re doing it to Trump in the media right now…he’s probably thinking, ‘Why did I take this job? I came here to get something done, and all they’re doing is trying to stand in my way’.”

“There were a few things that happened over the last eight years under Obama that we had no special counsel for,” Ed reminds everyone. Listen to Ed list out many of them, including:

• The IRS scandal
• Fast & Furious
• The Secret Service prostitution scandal
• The misappropriation of Hurricane Sandy relief funds (“They never made their way to New Jersey,” Ed reminds us.)
• Solyndra (they got $500 million of our taxpayer funds,” Ed says. “That’s not worth investigating?”)

…and lots more! Ed is on a roll in this segment.

As the second half continues, Ed covers the cries for impeachment that are coming from members of Congress “with a chip on their shoulder” and media types like Joe Scarborough. “Has he ever run a business?” Ed asks. He also has choice words for the liberal judges who have stopped Trump’s travel ban – intelligent thoughts people need to hear. “We have a guy that ran over people in Times Square this week,” Ed says. “Trump is trying to protect us, and we’re not even letting him do that. I’d like to say something more descriptive, but I can’t.”

As the show closes out, Ed covers the new details on the murder of Seth Rich, the DNC staffer who was shot in the back of the head last August right before the DNC convention. As for Seth Rich, you’ll hear the new developments and the story of private investigator Rod Wheeler, who was first hired by Rich’s family but is now skeptical about the “botched robbery” cover story. It seems pretty obvious that Rich was murdered because he gave WikiLeaks information on the DNC trying to sabotage Bernie Sanders’ campaign in order to make Hillary the inevitable nominee. Ed starts out by setting the tone for this week’s show: “People need to stop listening to all the BS on TV, and start thinking about what’s best for them,” he says. That principle will apply to healthcare, the firing of James Comey and everything else in the news this week. After Ed discusses a financial scenario some people might relate to, he reminds anyone who’s interested in taking advantage of real estate opportunities to call him at (855) 640-2020.

Next, there’s a discussion on the battle to get The American Health Care Act through the Senate. This week, the Democrats dreamed up a new scare tactic regarding the part of the bill that deals with pre-existing conditions. If you listen to the media coverage, you might think that House Republicans passed legislation to deny people with pre-existing conditions health insurance. Wrong! We have people like Anderson Cooper and his guests to thank for this misinformation, and Ed plays audio from them on this week’s show. Ed also has a simple definition for pre-existing conditions: “If we take away pre-existing conditions, we take away the need for insurance,” he says. “If you’re pregnant or have cancer and you don’t get health insurance until after that happens, then that’s a pre-existing condition.”

You’ll also get the facts on the pre-existing conditions provisions of the healthcare bill; Ed is reading them in detail.

First, he breaks down who isn’t affected by the pre-existing conditions provision:

• People who get insurance through their employer (155 million Americans)
• People on Medicaid or Medicare (70 million Americans)
• People who live in a state that doesn’t request the waiver
• People who live in a state that does request the waiver, but have maintained insurance coverage continuously with gaps no longer than 63 days

In other words, a fraction of the population.

Next, Ed presents these facts:

• Fact #1: If you have a pre-existing condition, you live in a waiver state and you haven’t had continuous coverage, you can only be charged more by your insurer for the first year.
• Fact #2: Thanks to the provision in the bill, every waiver state will have access to $8 billion in federal funds to ease the cost of insurance for people with pre-existing conditions
• Fact #3: The state must also have a high-risk pool or similar program to further alleviate insurance costs for pre-existing conditions.
• Fact #4: (This one is for all the millennials on Twitter saying that Republicans want to deny healthcare to rape survivors): There are laws on the books in 44 states that ban rape and sexual abuse from being a pre-existing condition. That nullifies their entire argument.

“Remember,” Ed says, “health insurance and healthcare are two different things.” He has perspective you need to hear!

Next, Ed’s talking about Sally Yates testifying on Capitol Hill about Russia’s interference in the presidential election. “I didn’t think we were still caring about this,” Ed says, “but apparently some duffuses in Washington D.C. do.” The bottom line on this three-hour hearing can be summed up in a two-minute exchange between Yates and Senator Lindsey Graham, as she described what she told the White House about then-National Security Advisor Mike Flynn’s dealings with Russia – and of course, Ed has that clip on this week’s show. The media acted like the hearing was full of big revelations on Flynn’s vulnerability to blackmail, but we heard all this back in February and this was just more of the same (Ed has news clips from February that prove it).

“Let’s talk about the big news that everyone’s talking about,” Ed says in the second half. “James Comey got fired this week.” Ed has the full timeline of the entire debacle James Comey has caused over the past two years, going back to the announcement in August 2015 that the FBI was investigating Hillary Clinton’s emails and all the way through to his firing on May 9, 2017. You’ll also hear the hilariously fluid opinions of Comey held by prominent Democrats; the same people who are crying about his termination this week were calling for his head last year. “It’s amazing,” Ed says as he reads the various points at which Democrats either loved or hated James Comey.

Of Comey’s ultimate foot-in-the-mouth moment last week before the Senate Judiciary Committee (where he said that Huma Abedin just sent classified material to her husband Anthony Weiner so he could print them for her), Ed says, “Is intent any part of the law?! He was doing a poor job. If I was doing that, I would be fired too. If I did what Hillary Clinton, Huma Abedin or Anthony Weiner did, I’d be in jail – but apparently there’s a second set of rules for those people, and that’s why we elected Trump. We were tired of that.”

This week starts with Congress’s vote Wednesday to approve a roughly $1.1 trillion spending bill ahead of a deadline to keep the government open through September. The measure passed the House on Wednesday in a 309-to-118 vote, and by Thursday afternoon it had passed the Senate with a 79-to-18 vote. Ed breaks down what’s in the bill, so if you need to hear what just passed, tune in to The Main Event this week. For example: Did you know what “$45 million for school choice” in the bill actually means? It means that the Republican-controlled government is reversing the first federally-funded education program Obama cancelled the second he got into office. There’s all kinds of info on the bill you don’t want to miss on this week’s show.

Ed also has audio from Mick Mulvaney, Director of the Office of Management and Budget, who spoke at the White House press briefing on Tuesday to address the bill. Why do you want to hear it? Because “he tells it like it is,” Ed says. “He doesn’t make it too complicated. Being in the finance industry myself, I try to keep things simple so people understand them. That’s what Mick Mulvaney did.” Mulvaney explained why it will be very possible to build the border wall, and why the Republicans “got a bite at the 2017 apple” thanks to Obama dropping the ball last year, and Ed will make it even simpler to understand in his comments. “The Democrats thought they could say, we won, we won, we stopped the wall!” Ed says. “But what they didn’t realize was there was already money in the budget for the wall. Donald Trump does know how to negotiate, and he’s fighting the fights that need fighting. For everything else, he’s negotiable.”

In the second half, we’re talking about the American Health Care Act (AKA the Obamacare replacement bill) passing the House this week. If you haven’t yet heard what’s in that bill, Ed’s got you covered for that, too. Here’s what the bill will do:

• Ends the Obamacare tax penalties for people who don’t buy insurance coverage and larger employers who don’t offer coverage. Instead, insurers would apply a 30 percent surcharge to customers who have let coverage lapse for more than 63 days in the past year.
• Ends tax increases on high income earners
• Ends tax increases on insurers, drug makers and medical device manufacturers
• Changes to Medicaid: Cuts Medicaid by 25 percent over 10 years, allows states to impose work requirements for Medicaid recipients, and forbids states from expanding Medicaid. It also changes Medicaid from an open-ended program to one that gives states fixed amounts of money annually.
• Overhauls the insurance subsidy system from income-based to tax credit-based. The credits would rise with customers’ ages and, like the previous subsidies, could be used toward premium costs.
• Implements a new system that allows states waivers to exempt insurers from covering certain conditions – but only if they have high-risk pools to cover people with pre-existing conditions. A provision added just this week would give another $8 billion over 5 years to help states finance those high-risk pools. “If anybody understands how insurance works, they wouldn’t get their knickers in a twist over this,” Ed says.
• Blocks federal payments to Planned Parenthood for a year.

And of course, we have to talk about how Hillary Clinton just found a new reason why she didn’t win the election: It was all FBI Director James Comey’s fault! You’ll hear how Hillary’s own party is turning on her, with responses from people like David Axelrod and Andrea Mitchell, both liberals who are openly criticizing Hillary’s comments. You’ll also hear the highlights from Comey’s testimony on the Hill this week, which is fascinating and only a little unfortunate. This is a big news week, and Ed has a big show to match.

Ed starts off with a little real estate talk. “A lot of people see prices going up and they’re afraid of another bubble coming,” Ed says. “I don’t see it. This week’s show airs on the 100^th day of Donald Trump’s presidency! We’re covering his accomplishments on the show, because of course the mainstream media has already pronounced his first 100 days to be a disaster. The media is loving the way “The Simpsons” opened its show this week with a first 100 days of Trump parody – a sketch that ended with Homer Simpson saying, “Give the President a chance; he’s only 70 years old.”

“Well, Nancy Pelosi is 77 years old,” Ed says. “Dianne Feinstein is 83…I think she died and nobody told her yet. I’d put Donald Trump’s energy level alongside people in their 30s and 40s.” Ed proceeds to recap the 30 executive orders and 28 laws that were signed in Trump’s first 100 days. If you haven’t yet heard all of them in one place, you can on this week’s The Main Event.

Ed elaborates on some orders, namely the one that calls for a review of the 2010 Dodd-Frank financial regulatory law. “As the owner of a mortgage company, that’s my favorite,” Ed says. And when it comes to the order that directed the Department of Defense to draw up a 30-day plan to defeat ISIS, Ed says: “30 days have gone by, and some of you may be wondering why we haven’t heard anything else about it. Maybe that’s because they don’t want the enemy to find out what we’re doing!” He concludes with the America First Offshore Energy Strategy, which Trump signed on Friday morning.

In the second half, we’re continuing with the first 100 days topic with Ed talking about the challenges Presidents throughout history have faced in their first 100 days. Check these out:

• William Henry Harrison died before his first 100 days were completed.
• Abraham Lincoln had to deal with the succession of the south.

This week, Ed and his guest Scott start off the show with a discussion on Bill O’Reilly being fired from Fox News in the wake of sexual harassment allegations and lawsuits from multiple women. “It amazes me that a guy who makes that much money isn’t smarter than he is,” Ed says. If you’ve only heard bits and pieces about the accusers, tune in to The Main Event to hear who they are and what they are alleging. “Either he’s being railroaded or he’s sort of a jerk,” Scott says. “Probably both,” Ed says. You’ll hear about this media scandal from all angles on The Main Event this week, and get some lighthearted commentary on Bill O’Reilly that anyone who is familiar with his career will enjoy.

Next it’s on to Tax Day, which was marked by marches all across the country designed to draw attention to the President’s tax returns. Ed has clips from ABC News that portray the events as grassroots, when they were clearly organized – and, he has the list of George Soros-affiliated organizations that funded them. Ed also has a beef with the people who attended these marches: “These people who demand that they want to see Trump’s tax returns wouldn’t know what they were looking at anyway,” he says. “Plus, they don’t even pay taxes.”

In the second half, we discuss the new “Buy American, Hire American” executive order, which targets the H1-B Visa program and aims to encourage American companies to hire American workers, rather than foreign workers, for skilled occupations. You’ll hear the President’s comments on this order, as well as an opposing viewpoint from businessman Mark Cuban. And as we close out the show, there’s an update on the President’s administration visiting the border and speaking out on their efforts to crack down on gangs like MS-13. This week, Ed welcomes Joey Jones back to the show to discuss everything that’s going on in foreign policy – and this week, that’s a lot! If you missed him on Fox News Channel discussing Syria, you’ll hear it on this week’s show in addition to some banter on the big United Airlines story everyone’s talking about. “I have a hard time believing a plane load of people going to Chicago didn’t take an offer of $1,000 to give up their seat,” Ed says. “I can,” Joey says. “You couldn’t pay me enough to give up my seat. They would have had to drag me off the flight too.”

Next, it’s on to a deep dive foreign policy discussion. As you recall, President Trump authorized airstrikes last week against the Syrian airbase where the Assad regime launched a chemical attack against innocent civilians, and even liberals are having a hard time criticizing him for it. As a military analyst with years of experience, Joey agrees with the experts who are supportive of the action. “I don’t look at this as a military action at all,” Joey says. “This is posturing and submission.” Tune in to find out what that means; it’s a fascinating analogy, and Joey’s expertise on these matters is always enlightening.

In the first few days after the strike, everyone from John Kerry to Chuck Schumer said the President did the right thing – but now, the narrative is slightly shifting. Ed plays one example from CNN, where Brooke Baldwin was clearly surprised by what a Syrian refugee living in Germany had to say about our President because it was so positive. In response, she said things like, “Was his response enough?” Here’s Joey’s take: “When you can’t quite disagree with everything someone does, you just consider it inadequate,” he says. “It’s a crazy world when a left-leaning anchor in 2017 says, ‘Was there enough military force?’ They just believe in opposing something.” You’ll also hear this refugee’s compelling response to Hillary Clinton. “I didn’t see you raising your voice against President Obama’s inaction that made us into refugees,” he says. “This is hypocrisy. If you really want to help us, help us stay in our country. Help us build safe zones.” This man’s words are powerful, and anyone on the fence about Trump’s travel ban, the Syrian airstrikes and other aspects of our Middle Eastern policy needs to hear them.

In the second half, the Syria discussion continues with Russia entering the conversation. “I hope that Russia, along with the U.S., understands this can’t become a proxy war for us,” Joey says. “If we end up taking military action and my brothers and sisters go over there…I’ve got to know that there’s a well thought-out end game.” As for whether Russia knew about Assad’s plan to carry out a chemical attack on his own people, “I think at this point it’s obvious,” Joey says. “We have major problems with Russia; it makes you wonder if we missed out on Mitt Romney, because he talked about this when he was running against President Obama.” If you haven’t yet heard the comments from the Russian Foreign Minister alongside our Secretary of State this week, tune in to hear them along with other important developments in this tangled foreign policy triangle.

Next, it’s on to the big developments in Syria. “If you’ve seen the photos,” Ed says of the horrific chemical attack carried out by Bashar al-Assad’s regime, “you’ve seen little babies…it’s sad, disturbing.” We’re recapping the progression of events, from Assad’s disgusting serine gas attack on his own people, to President Trump’s emotional comments on what we witnessed, to – in an act of serious presidential guts! – Trump greenlighting the airstrike of 59 Tomahawk missiles on the same airfield where Assad carried out his attack. Even the liberals are having a hard time criticizing this, and it’s largely being praised as a successful operation.

“You could hear in his voice…he was emotionally moved by this,” Ed says of Trump’s unexpected remarks from Mar-a-Lago on Thursday night. As for Russia’s unfavorable reaction to our actions, “I think this might do something for all these collusion accusations,” Ed says. “Does this sound like someone who’s in bed with the Russians?” And speaking of liberals, it’s hard for them to criticize President Trump for this decision when none other than Hillary Clinton called for airstrikes just hours before, unaware that Trump was already planning it. Pretty remarkable!

In the second half, it’s on to the big news that Judge Neil Gorsuch was confirmed as the 113th Supreme Court Justice on Friday morning. If you haven’t been up on the details, Ed recaps them on the show. Most importantly, he explains the filibuster the Senate Democrats staged, which forced the Senate Republicans to choose the so-called “rules change”/”nuclear option.” You’ll also hear Democrats like Chuck Schumer cry about the unfairness of the move; that’s because the Democrats themselves wanted to do this very same thing in 2013, when they were the ones in power. “It’s always a two-way street for the Democrats,” Ed says. “When they want to do it, it’s okay. They don’t like it this time, because they aren’t the ones in power anymore.”

As the show closes, we’re talking about Susan Rice. As Obama’s National Security Advisor, she had a history of lying (Benghazi, anyone?), and it looks like not much has changed. Rice said things on MSNBC this week that contradicted what she said on PBS last month, and all of it points to her as the person who unmasked Trump team members who were, at this point, clearly under surveillance by the Obama administration. “This whole Russia thing was all a smokescreen to take our attention away from Hillary Clinton’s corruption,” Ed says. “There was no ‘there’ there – but with the Democrats, there’s a lot of ‘there’ there.”

This week, Ed starts the show with a promise to “help you see where the media tries to steer us in a particular direction” – but first, a reminder that if you’re looking for a home loan in California or Arizona, Ed can help you find the missing piece in your real estate financing puzzle. “Call me at (855) 640-2020,” he says.

First up, we’re talking about the aftermath of the healthcare bill failure. President Trump is telling people it’s not over yet, and Ed wishes it would be. “I hate to disagree with the President,” he says, “but I think they went about this all wrong.” Ed, who happens to be a whiz with numbers, calculates how many people really have insurance because of Obamacare and says, “So for those 3.9 million people, they had to mess up insurance for all of us.” And when it comes to the ongoing feud with Trump and the Freedom Caucus, Paul Ryan is actually empathizing with the President – to which Ed says, “I wonder if he heard Judge Jeanine (and her calls for Ryan to resign) and he’s trying to save his political career.” You’ll also hear from a few people who are a bit confused about how the health insurance system works, and you’ll hear Ed set them straight; as part of that discussion, you’ll hear him reveal some little-known secrets of business owners who take advantage of tax laws. The first half is chock full of valuable info from Ed, so tune in for the whole show!

Next, it’s on to the House Intelligence Committee investigation into the alleged Russian interference in our election, which gave way to allegations that Obama administration officials had Trump transition team members under surveillance. Ed has all the relevant developments of the week, from Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes telling reporters he will not recuse himself and the investigation is moving forward, to Congressman Trey Gowdy saying, “I don’t care if the information comes from the White House or the Waffle House,” because what matters is the substance of the information – “not the means by which it was acquired.” For those who are unclear on the details, Ed recaps what’s happened over the past couple of weeks. You’ll also hear from Obama administration official Evelyn Farkas, who admitted to MSNBC earlier this month that she played a big role in actively spying on Trump team members. “I’m going on TV, I’m going to say this stuff and people are going to think I’m cool,” Ed says of her. “Does she not realize that the other side is watching? That’s pretty damning, what she said.”

This segues into a discussion on Hillary Clinton, because most people forget that she had established, undeniable ties with the Russian government. This is an incredible story you need to hear. Not to give everything away, here are some hints:

• The New York Times reported on it more than once
• It concerns Uranium One, a nuclear energy company owned by the Russian government that now controls 20% of all American uranium
• It involves – what else? – Hillary giving out favors in exchange to foreign donations to the Clinton Foundation
• The Clinton presidential campaign was warned by the “charitable” Clinton Foundation that an investigation was underway
• Bill Clinton has his own ties to Russia, including a handsome sum of money he got paid by a Kremlin-controlled bank to speak in Moscow

“I don’t know if this means anything to you, but it kind of bothers me that people are talking about Trump considering all of this,” Ed says. “Does anybody feel like this is dirty?” Those of you who read the book Clinton Cash will love this, and those who didn’t need to hear it for the first time.

As the show closes, Ed recaps the executive orders President Trump signed this week that rolled back four Obama-era regulations. If you needed some good news, this is it!

Ed opens this week’s show with a scene from the movie “The Firm.” He hopes it reminds us “what the government can do to anybody,” and this week’s topics are a perfect reminder of that. It starts with the House Intelligence Committee investigations into the allegations of Russian interference and collusion with the Trump campaign, including the hearing they held with FBI Director James Comey this week.

If you missed Comey admitting the FBI is investigating the whole Russia matter and Trey Gowdy grilling Comey about whether they’re investigating the equally important wiretapping allegations President Trump has made, tune in to this week’s show. “There must have been something,” Ed says about the wiretapping claims, “because Mike Flynn was making a phone call from Trump Tower and everybody knows about it and it was recorded.” When it comes to the buzzwords of the week – “unmasking” and “incidental collection” – Ed breaks it down and makes it simple. He also has a bottom line point: “If you were doing an investigation when your spouse cheated on you, would you care more about how it was done or the fact that it happened? This is all just a smokescreen.” Underscoring these thoughts is White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer, who let reporters have it this week regarding their obsession over how the committee is communicating with Trump about the information rather than what information is being uncovered. It’s a great moment, so if you aren’t able to catch the daily press briefings, tune in to The Main Event this week.

Next, it’s on to discussing the confirmation of Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court. “If you watched any part of these hearings, you saw the Democrats try to make Gorsuch looked bad because they disagreed with some of his decisions,” Ed says. “But if you listen to Gorsuch, he says he uses the law to make decisions, not his personal opinions.” Tune in to hear Al Franken’s grandstanding during the hearing, and get the facts on the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals case that’s being used against Gorsuch (yes, there will be a Stuart Smalley joke!).

And of course, we’re tackling the healthcare bill this week. “This seems to be changing as I’m recording,” Ed says, since the House announced they would not vote on Friday after all (a day after announcing they would not vote on Thursday after all). If you wondered why 25 Freedom Caucus members refused to support the bill this week, resulting in these tough negotiations, you’ll hear how it happened on this week’s show (hint: it involves a closed-door meeting with Rand Paul). “That’s how it’s supposed to work,” Ed says. “But we endured the last eight years of Obama, when he meets with Valerie Jarrett and then gets on TV and reads a speech off a teleprompter and doesn’t talk to anybody. He didn’t talk to the Senate or the House, because that would be working. Somebody has to initiate the communication, and that has to be the President.” Trump did that this week, meeting with various House caucus members to negotiate. Ed believes we can repeal in a separate bill, then replace later. “Then in the nine months while you draft the replacement, you can put the insurance companies to work,” he says.

As the show winds down, Ed touches on the London terror attack and reminds everyone that an American tourist died because of laxed anti-terrorism measures over there. “Europe is done,” Ed says. “In 10 or 20 years, the whole continent is going to Muslim. What do you think’s going to happen here if we do the same things as them?”

“If I sound like I make sense and you need a home loan, call me,” Ed says. “I have two ears and one mouth, and I assume God gave them to me in that proportion for a reason, so I’ll listen to you.”

This week, Geraldo Rivera was vindicated for his “Al Capone’s Vault” fiasco 30 years ago thanks to MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, who embarrassed herself to the point that even people on the left were mocking her. If you missed her exclusive “scoop” on Donald Trump’s 2005 tax return – or, if you just want to relive the hilarious failure from Tuesday night – tune in to The Main Event this week. Ed’s replaying and commenting on everything from her excitable opening introduction to her failed attempt to connect “Russian oligarch” Dmitry Rybolovlev to Trump’s foreign policy interests (by revealing that their yachts were parked to each other at one point and Trump once sold Rybolovlev a Palm Beach house). “Why is this even news?” Ed says. “If you live in Florida and you have a yacht, I imagine that some of those yachts are parked next to each other. It’s not the same as the ‘coincidence’ that at the same time Bill Clinton was at the Phoenix airport, Loretta Lynch was there too.”

As for what this single tax return from 12 years ago revealed about Trump’s income, Ed says, “He made a lot of money, he took a lot of write-offs, and he still paid $38 million in taxes so I guess all that stuff about Trump ‘not paying taxes’ wasn’t true after all.” There’s a lot to laugh at with this story, so that’s just the beginning; tune in to the show this week to hear it all.

The fight to pass the American Health Care Act (the Obamacare repeal bill), now officially in its second week, continues with Democrats using scare tactics like this one from Bernie Sanders: “If this bill passes…thousands of people will DIE.” Ed is in the Rand Paul camp on this one (not a fan of this bill, but not on the Democrats’ side either). No matter which side you’re on, you’ll find it ironic that Nancy Pelosi – who famously said “We have to pass the bill so you can find out what’s in it” about Obamacare in 2010 – is now writing letters to Speaker Ryan arguing that Americans have the right to see what’s in the Republicans’ Obamacare repeal bill. “Can you say hypocrite?” Ed says.

In the second half, we’re talking about the developments in the President’s travel ban when two federal judges blocked the second version of it this week. “All he’s trying to do is protect us,” Ed says of the President. “Since there seems to be a hotbed of people who hate America over there, let’s just stop all of them from coming for now.” He has lots more to say about this, so tune in to the show to hear it (hint: Ed raises questions about Obama possibly meeting with the judge in Hawaii two days before the order). “He just happened to graduate from Harvard Law School in 1991 the same year as Obama,” Ed says. “Do you think there’s anything here?”

As we close the show, Ed’s giving a real estate scenario he thinks people can relate to. “There’s a difference between buying a house you’re going to live in and buying a house you’re going to invest in,” he begins. He also talks about advice he gives to first-time homebuyers, and what he tells buyers who get outbid on their offers. Tune in to hear the rest!

The Main Event – March 10, 2017

“I started out this show 9-and-a-half years ago,” Ed says as he opens the show, and he explains why the show was primarily about real estate back then. “People needed some guidance,” he says. “Some of those loans were really bad at the time. But now, things are changing in the mortgage market because things are changing in our economy.”

So now, Ed will be devoting a part of the show to real estate again in addition to national politics. As an experienced real estate investor, he has tips for people interested in it and you can hear them from time to time on the show. You’ll also hear various mortgage scenarios you may be able to relate to – and for those who tune in to hear about politics, Ed manages to tie it all together!

Moving on to politics, we’re talking about the two biggest legislative development this week: the House Republicans’ plan to replace Obamacare, which is currently being called the American Health Care Act. If you needed to hear the changes the Republicans are proposing, tune in to this week’s show to hear them. Ed, like many people, isn’t impressed. “There are 20 people in Congress who are medical doctors,” Ed says. “17 in the House and 3 in the Senate. Why don’t you grab all those people, get them together and have a conversation about what makes sense here.” He compares what’s going on with healthcare to what he encounters in the mortgage industry: “Instead of just worrying about rates and costs, let’s talk about what plan is best for you.”

The discussion carries over into the second half, and you don’t want to miss it; Ed’s taking on the pre-existing conditions, the costs, the mandates and more. Here’s one for thought: “If there are no pre-existing conditions, what do you even need insurance for?” You’ll also hear a fascinating idea from a local doctor in Southern California – one that involves doctors having their medical school paid for by the government provided that they start out working in hospitals that serve the underprivileged. It’s an innovative idea that shows a different way to think about healthcare.

Moving on, Ed addresses the new executive order the President signed this week to change aspects of the original travel ban order. You’ll hear clips from the three cabinet members who gave a joint press conference on it, and of course Ed will outline the key changes to the order. “Why is this so hard to understand?” Ed says to people who disagree with the President’s order. “This is why we elected Trump, because we wanted some common sense. We wanted someone to protect us.”

As the show closes, you’ll hear about the media’s unending obsession with connecting Trump to Russia. White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer laid a smackdown in Wednesday’s press briefing, and you can hear it this week on The Main Event – and, you’ll get Ed’s thoughts on those Obama wiretapping allegations.

The Main Event – March 3, 2017

This week, Ed starts the show with a clip from the movie “Tombstone” in honor of the late Bill Paxton. “I thought about using a clip from an Academy Award movie,” Ed says, “but I realized the only one I saw this year was Hacksaw Ridge.”

Joining Ed in the studio today is guest Bob Fredericks, a local citizen who works with the group San Bernardino Survivors Speak Out to advocate for the survivors of the December 2, 2015 San Bernardino terror attack. “These survivors are finding themselves being denied medical treatments by San Bernardino County’s self-funded worker’s comp. program and its utilization review,” Bob says. Many people are unaware of the ongoing struggle that the 22 shooting survivors are experiencing. “In the immediate aftermath,”  Bob says, “the county did everything in covering medical services: hospitals, services, rehab, etc. Then later, they began to see those services denied.”

These survivors are continuing to experience serious PTSD issues, in addition to the physical trauma that comes with recovering from injuries like shattered pelvises and paralyzed limbs. “I’m surprised that the county would not recognize that,” Ed says. Bob explains the bureaucratic mess that has hampered the recovery of these survivors, and you’ll hear from three of them when Ed plays their TV interviews. The San Bernardino terror attack didn’t end on 12/2/15; the survivors are still attempting to pick up the pieces to this day, and there are ways you can help. Bob encourages listeners to visit www.SBsurvivors.com to get involved.

In the second half, Ed is recapping President Trump’s address to Congress this week. He has analysis you haven’t heard anywhere else, particularly when it comes to the part of the speech where Trump referenced job creation; tune in this week to hear it! You’ll also hear the gasps and boos from the Democrats who apparently don’t like the idea of creating an office to help victims of violent crime by illegal immigrants. “Oh my God,” Ed mocks, “he’s talking about illegal immigrant crime. You know what? That’s reality!” He’ll also poke fun at the Democrats who sat and scowled during even the most optimistic parts of Trump’s speech – congressional leaders like Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Keith Ellison, who sat when the President talked about keeping our nation safe from terror. Ed ties it all in to the first half topic: the San Bernardino terror attack. “If they had just looked at Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik’s social media, maybe that could have been prevented,” Ed said. His point: We finally have a President who believes those measures need to happen, and the Democrats in Congress don’t agree.

Fortunately, many in the mainstream media praised this address – including the notoriously anti-Trump Van Jones, who actually said, “He became President of the United States in that moment – period.” Wow!
